CRI-1 baggage door caboose kit
In 1940 and 1941 The Rock Island Railroad had taken 20 boxcars from the B-2 class series 42200 to 45699 and rebuilt them into baggage door cabooses. Some of these cabooses lasted all the way to the end of the railroad in 1980 and beyond some owned by individuals some by railroads. Some of the equipment used on the cabooses that are supplied in our model is both KC and AB brake equipment which most of the cabooses were switched to the AB type equipment in 1953 or 1954, Wood covered canvas type roof is represented. The customer supplies nothing but the paint, couplers, time and the railroad bed to run it on.
